Crime Stoppers Anonymous Live Chat Safe City Commission Crime Stoppers in Tarrant County, in collaboration with Nexus Systems (a division of Sekiur LLC), today added an exciting new tool to its arsenal in combating crime. Beginning today, citizens will have the ability to anonymously initiate a live chat with Crime Stoppers by clicking on the “Live Chat” button on the Safe City Commission Crime Stoppers website.

This new service will allow anyone to submit anonymous tips within a live chat, when voice calls may not always be possible or safe. The ability to carry out a two-way communication with the tipster enhances the collection of accurate information much needed to assist law enforcement in preventing and investigating crime.

This secure service assigns an anonymous alias (Tipster), maintaining the tipster’s complete anonymity.

“This new technology while adding another communication channel should improve the ability of Crime Stoppers to receive tips. The added ability to have an instant live chat two-way conversation with tipsters while keeping their identity anonymous will prove to be extremely important”, Ken Shetter, Executive Director for Safe City Commission Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers believes this new system will entice more tipsters to come forward. Although phone calls to Crime Stoppers are currently treated as anonymous, using the web has the perception of keeping the Tipster's identity totally secure and truly anonymous.

Safe City Commission Crime Stoppers utilizes information from anonymous tipsters to arrest felony offenders. Since its inception in 1982 in Tarrant County, Crime Stoppers has paid more than $1.2 million in rewards and recovered nearly $27 million in property and narcotics. Additionally, over 6,000 offenders have been arrested, with more than 10,200 cases cleared.
